How to Add ROMs and BIOS Files to SCCM Retro

Adding games to SCCM Retro is mostly drag and drop. You drop a file and the launcher figures out which system it belongs to, unpacks archives, converts discs to save space, and files it in the right place. This guide covers the file types it handles and the two easiest ways to get files onto your console, plus how to delete them.

Note: Only add ROMs and BIOS files from your own legally obtained backups.

What it handles for you

  • Sorts each ROM onto the correct system automatically.
  • Extracts archives: .zip, .7z, and .rar.
  • Converts disc images to save space: PS1, PS2, PSP, and Dreamcast discs become CHD; GameCube and Wii discs become RVZ.
  • Files everything on the right storage on its own. Anything it cannot recognize goes to an Unsorted tab so you can place it yourself.

Systems it runs: NES, SNES, Game Boy / Color, GBA, Genesis, N64, PS1, PSP, Dreamcast, GameCube, Wii, Wii U, PS2, Nintendo DS, and 3DS.

Add over WiFi from a browser (easiest)

Open Settings, go to Manage Files, and note the address shown there, which looks like http://your-console-ip:8097. Open that address in any phone or PC browser on the same network, no login needed. Use the Add ROMs tab to drag ROMs or archives in, and the Add BIOS tab for BIOS files. They sort themselves onto the console.

Add from a USB drive

Plug a USB drive into the dock. In Settings, go to Manage Files, choose the USB Storage Device option, and use Browse and import to pick ROMs or archives from the drive. They import and sort the same way.

About BIOS files

Some systems need a BIOS file to run (for example PS1, PS2, PSP, and DS). Add them exactly like ROMs: drop them in the Add BIOS tab in the browser, or import them from USB. The launcher puts each BIOS in the folder its emulator expects.

Deleting ROMs or BIOS

In Settings, go to Manage Files, and open Manage / delete under Storage and Files. Files are grouped by console; you can remove ROMs, saves, or BIOS from there. The File Manager tab on the same browser page can also view and delete files.
