Display and Dock Features in SCCM Retro

SCCM Retro’s look and its screen behavior live in one place. You can set the output resolution when docked, recolor the whole interface, pick a background, and control when the screen sleeps. All of this is in Settings under Display and Sound.

Colors

The interface has a Primary color and a Secondary color. Each has a slider and a row of preset swatches, with the current color code shown. Changing them recolors the launcher’s neon interface to whatever you like.

Docked resolution

When you dock the console, you can choose the output resolution.

Tip: If a high resolution like 4K gives you a black screen or no picture on your TV, step the docked resolution down to 1440p or 1080p. Not every dock and TV handles the highest modes.

Backgrounds

Pick a background style for the grid. There are various options to choose from.

Screen timeout

Set how long before the screen sleeps, with separate values for Charging, Battery, and Low battery. You can turn the timeout off or pick a delay for each. This is handy for keeping the screen on while docked and letting it sleep on battery.

A note on docks

If you dock and get a black screen or a zoomed in image, a lower docked resolution usually fixes it. If the screen stays black, try power cycling the dock by undocking the switch and disconnecting the power, docking the switch again, then plugging the power on. Repeated docking and undocking or an unstable usb connection can cause the dock’s video adapter to get stuck. Power cycling the dock (unplug its power for a moment) resets it.
