SCCM Retro keeps itself up to date. Most updates arrive on their own, and larger ones you install from a browser. This covers how updates work, the two kinds, and where to install them by hand.
How updates work
The launcher can check for updates when it starts up. Open Settings and go to the Updates tab to see your installed version, a Check for updates on startup toggle, and a Check now button.
The two kinds of update
- Regular updates: smaller updates the launcher finds on startup or when you press Check now. When one is ready a banner appears, and installing it restarts the launcher.
- Large updates: full system update files. These come as a .tar.gz file that you drop in from a browser. The console stages it and reboots to finish.
Installing a large update by hand
Open the console’s web page (the address is shown in Settings under Manage Files, like http://your-console-ip:8097), go to the Update tab, and drop the .tar.gz update file onto it. The console stages the update and reboots to apply it.
